Dash trim, bezels and lenses

Instrument panel trim, gauge bezels, dash lamp hoods and indicator lenses. Few are reproduced, and originals fade, crack or go brittle.

Trim and bezels

Trim pieces and bezels frame gauges and switches. Fit depends on the gauge hole size and the clips or screws that hold the trim, so measure the panel as well as the part.

Lenses

Clear and coloured lenses need optical clarity that 3D printing does not deliver well. They are usually made by moulding, casting or machining clear plastic, so lens requests are handled by a fabrication partner rather than a printer.

Lamp hoods and lenses near incandescent bulbs get hot. Heat is checked before any lamp-adjacent part is offered.

Fitting and finish

Bezels often clamp a gauge into the panel, so replacing one can mean removing the gauge. Disconnect the battery before you work behind the dash.

Many trim pieces were originally painted, plated or textured. A reproduction may come in a plain finish ready for painting, and the part page will say which. Note the original colour and finish when you request a part, ideally with a photo in daylight.

What to measure before you request one

  • Gauge or lamp hole diameter in the panel
  • Outer diameter or outline of the bezel, lens or trim
  • Depth or thickness, and any step or lip
  • Clip, tab or screw positions
  • Photos straight-on and from the side, with a ruler in shot
